Mazda 6 Service Manual / Automatic transaxle / On-board diagnostic / Foreword

When the customer reports a vehicle malfunction, check the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), HOLD indicator light flashing, and PCM memory for diagnostic trouble code (DTC), then diagnose the malfunction according to following flowchart.

- If the DTC exists, diagnose the applicable DTC. (See DTC TABLE.)

- If the DTC does not exist, MIL does not illuminate, and HOLD indicator light flashes, diagnose the applicable symptom troubleshooting. (See SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING ITEM TABLE.)
