- When the customer reports a vehicle malfunction, check the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), HOLD indicator light flashing, and PCM memory for diagnostic trouble code (DTC), then diagnose the malfunction according to following flowchart.
- If the DTC exists, diagnose the applicable DTC. (See DTC TABLE.)
- If the DTC does not exist, MIL does not illuminate, and HOLD indicator light flashes, diagnose the applicable symptom troubleshooting. (See SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING ITEM TABLE.)

2. Remove the oil level plug and washer.
3. Verify that the oil is near the brim of the plug port.
If the oil level is lower than the low level, add the specified amount
and type of oil through the oil level plug hole.
