Mazda 6 Service Manual: Power steering pressure (psp) switchinspection
Note
- Perform the following inspection only when directed.
Continuity Inspection
1. Inspect the following if the power steering is inoperative (See POWER STEERING FLUID INSPECTION.):
- Power steering fluid level
- Power steering fluid leakage
- Power steering fluid pressure
2. Disconnect the PSP switch connector.
3. Start the engine.
4. Inspect for continuity between the PSP switch terminal and GND using an ohmmeter.
- If not as specified, replace the PSP switch.
- If the PSP switch is okay, but PSP PID value is out of specification, perform the Circuit Open Inspection.
Specification
Circuit Open Inspection
1. Disconnect the PCM connector. (See PCM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
2. Inspect the following harness for open or short. (Continuity check)
Open circuit
- If there is no continuity, the circuit is open. Repair or replace the harness.
- PSP switch terminal (harness-side) and PCM terminal 1Z (harness-side)
Short circuit
- If there is continuity, the circuit is shorted. Repair or replace the harness.
- PSP switch terminal (harness-side) and body GND
