Mazda 6 Service Manual: Parking brake (lever type) removal/installation
1. Remove the center console. (See CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
2. Remove the rear seat cushion (4SD) or rear seat (5HB) . (See REAR SEAT
REMOVAL/
INSTALLATION.)
3. Remove the exhaust pipe bracket.
4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.
6. Adjust the parking brake stroke. (See PARKING BRAKE (LEVER TYPE) ADJUSTMENT.)
Parking brake (lever type) adjustment
1. Start the engine and depress the brake pedal several times.
2. Stop the engine.
3. Remove the ashtray behind the center console.
4. Turn the adjusting nut as shown in the figure.

2. Position the strap hanger as shown in the figure.
3. Pull the liftgate side trim toward you, then disengage clips A, pin B and
